Recent Legislative Successes

In the past legislative sessions, Campo and Associates have:

  • Successful in restoring the MERC funding in the Health and Human Services Bill for their client, Northwestern Chiropractic College.
  • Led the effort to block the passage of the bills that would have lowered the blood alcohol level for a DUI from .10 to .08 and stopped the passage of the Wine in the Grocery Store bill.
  • Secured (tens of millions of dollars) for the operational, maintenance and acquisition funding sought by the Minneapolis Park Board in the 2003 legislative session.
  • Secured the buyout of the Minnesota Timber wolves and the City of Minneapolis successful negotiations of their stadium (Target Center acquisition) buy-out plan.
  • Key Lobbyist for the Metropolitan Council secures funding for Minnesota's first light rails transit line as well as 22 other successful legislative initiatives.
  • Secured statutory law changes for AFLAC Insurance Company.
  • Forced the legislature to adopt competitive bidding procedures for E.F. Johnson, in its effort to bid on Minnesota's new emergency radio system, 800 megahertz.
  • Procured millions of dollars of new funding for academic expansion and dormitory expansion for Fond Du Lac Community College.


2005 Legislative Successes

  • Obtained funding to renovate the Schubert Theater
  • Passed workers comp reform giving parody to chiropractors
  • Procured an additional $43 million in LGA state aid to cities across Minnesota during Special Session.
  • $14.5 million in additional funding for Minneapolis Parks over current 2005 state appropriations.
  • Stopping no fault auto provisions that would have severely paired back the ability of patient care options.
  • On behalf of the tavern league of Minnesota and the Bowling Proprietors blocked a statewide initiative for smoking bans

2004 Legislative Successes

  • Passed Provider coalition Fair Contracting bill as well as defeating numerous legislation that had adverse effects for chiropractors.
  • All issues that effect the hospitality industry: Lowering BAC to .08, Tax issues, and defeating wine in the grocery stores for the Bowling Proprietors and the Wine Beer and Spirits Federation.
  • Passed Bond cap legislation that limits the amount a defendant has to post as a bond in appealing judgments in Minnesota.
  • Enabling language for Cornell company regarding private prison RFP's
  • Statutory language changes on behalf of Minneapolis Park Board.
